The old folks are back...
Remember the old folks that reviewed Animal Collective a while ago? Well, they're back. Actually they didn't really go anywhere because they're afraid of cars like most old people, but I just haven't checked in on them for a while. They've moved on to some more "mature" sounding tunes like Bon Iver, but for comedies sake they're still doing reviews of songs that they're bound to both hate and be confused by. Surprisingly, they're often dead-on...

The Old Folks really missed out; the meat of Snookered doesn't drop until after the third minute. After that, there's another five minutes to listen to. Asking him to skip the build up is like cutting someone off before they finish a story, telling them that it was boring, and then recommending a book of children's fairy tales so they can practice good story telling.
Bromst is Deacon's most listenable album to date. The reviewer's advice would have been applicable for some of his earlier work, but taking it would have meant not creating the album in the first place. With Bromst, he shows that he's more than just a far-out experimenter, but also a legitimate songwriter.
That said, I love these videos. It's thrilling that these people are willing to listen to music that brings them out of their element. I would never have found their videos without B 'n B, so thanks for posting them.
