when i think about buddy holly's career and the impact he had on modern music, i always always get shivers when i remember that he was only 22 years old when he died.
to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the day the music died, geffen records released down the line: rarities, a double disc compilation of 59 rarities, b-sides, and undubbed versions of his famous "apartment tapes" and "garage tapes", recorded in his family's home garage with the crickets. i hear its worth every penny.
