Grass Widow
If I told you that Grass Widow sounds like Vivian Girls would that make you want to listen to them? I have some doubts, so I'll say that Grass Widow is way better than Vivian Girls. They seem to run with the same crowd, but the ladies of Grass Widow have a much firmer grasp on excellent post-punk bass lines and multi-part harmonies than Vivian Girls. Plus, you actually tell what they're saying most of the time.
They have a 12" EP out now on Captured Tracks and a possible repress of their debut on Make A Mess coming soon.
