light: on the south side
Telling you that Numero Group's latest release is incredible is a bit of a truism. Numero Group is well known for their ability to curate amazing compilations of long-lost R&B, funk and soul tracks from highly specific areas. They've done it 33 times now.
Light: On The South Side is their most recent release, and by far, my favorite. It only comes in a $60 vinyl box set with two LP's of rare Chicago blues and funk, and one 132-page hardcover book featuring photographs of the Chicago club scene from the mid-to-late 70's and commentary by Nick Hornby.
