Alex Bleeker & The Freaks
When I saw Real Estate at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly a little bit ago, I noticed that their bassist was having the time of his life. Standing out from the rest of the band, Alex Bleeker bobbed up and down on one foot with a closed-mouth smile and half-opened eyes. You could say he was "feeling it." Real Estate was great, but I have to believe that any band fronted by Alex Bleeker himself is far greater based on shear power of his (?stoned?) smile... and that hat... and look at that beard. I'm dude crushin' a bit, but listen, Alex Bleeker & The Freaks have a 12" coming out on the always amazing, Underwater Peoples.
