VIDEO: Love Comes Close
The video for the title track from Cold Cave's new album (technically a reissue) on Matador, Love Comes Close, also works as a microcosm for their overall sound. It's dark and creepy, but it moves along at a pace that you can dance to. If you can't already tell, Cold Cave is the latest band to do the whole Joy Division/New Order thing really well.
Love Comes Close is out 11/3.
3 feeback:
dancey yes... i don't see the "dark and creepy" though... he has a deep voice...
I was mostly referring to the video itself being dark and creepy. It's quite literally dark, ie. a lack of lighting, and there's a little goth tinge to it with all the animal heads and candles. I think that qualifies as creepy. I'm not literally creeped out by it, but I did make that little pact with Satan and all on my 13th birthday, so I'm down the dark side.
i'll agree with the icy synth desciption... (can't leave feedback on the new post for some reason)... i read your blog more than any other (why i sent my own band's music to you) and was a bit shocked at how vehement and dramatic your response to it was... thought you'd like a little feedback from time to time... the hundred times i didn't comment i assure you i agreed.
